How are your handmade Holiday cards coming along? I’ve started mine but really need to find more time to spend working on them! Normally I create cards that are more on the cute side for Christmas but this year I’m trying something different and going for a more elegant look with gold foiling and pretty winter florals and botanicals. So I thought today’s would be a great day to share some inspiration for classy Christmas cards.

Jennifer used an ombre’ of blue inks and lots of gold heat embossing for her pretty design. She ink blended the ornament and used the same 3 different inks to ink and stamp the large star background. Find more info at the Hero Arts blog.

Heather H. used new products from Tim Holtz for her wonderful Poinsettia card. She stamped a trendy faux postcard on the kraft background, inked and stamped the flower in red and green inks, die cut it and tied a rustic twine around. The splatter adds a nice snowy look too. Marianne created a couple of beautiful snowflake cards! She die cut them from watercolor paper, adding color with Distress Inks and then heat embossing over the top. A few gems and sentiments finish off the designs perfectly. I came across them on the Whimsy Stamps Instagram page.

Nothing says elegant quite like foiling! Jeanne used a multi tonal red foil for an all over background on her lovely card. She wrapped bakers twine around the middle and added a foiled and die cut red and white sentiment over top. I spotted her idea on the Pink and Main Instagram page.

This wonderful die cut snowman has so much class and style! She’s got matching pink gloves and scarf, blue buttons and a top hat decorated with plaid fabric and Holly. Arjita’s stunning card features stamped and water colored holiday florals and botanicals with a gold heat embossed sentiment. I love the pop of trendy teal she included with the traditional green and red! I came across her card idea at the Gina K. Designs Instagram page.

Gaylynn has a cool technique to share using a stamp, heat embossing and foiling. She used this technique on the large snowflake and sentiment with amazing results! The die cut snowy house are cut from white cardstock with red doors sitting in snowy drifts with a dark blue ink blended and splattered sky.
