I love the yellow and pink color combo on Brenda’s lovely Easter Egg card! She stenciled Tulips on the base panel, placed a die cut piece of vellum over top with her die cut egg that has stenciled polka dots. Around her egg there’s bunches of pretty ink blended and die cut flowers and a stamped and die cut sentiment on top. Find step by step directions on the Papertrey Ink blog.
I loved hunting for Easter Eggs as a child, my Mom had a beautiful garden and if the weather was nice she’d hide eggs all over the yard for us and it was so fun finding them nestled in the Buttercups and among all the new flowers coming up. Eggs are a such an iconic symbol of Spring and Easter and work so well on our handmade cards for this time of year. You can use stamps, dies or stencils to create Egg designs and best of all they can be “dyed” any color you’d like from soft pastels to bold and bright. So today let’s take a look at some beautiful Easter Egg Card ideas.
This card has sweet stamped bunnies painting a giant egg, one even needs a step ladder, along with some tiny chick helpers. I love the soft pastel colors and the clean and simple background that draws all the focus to the scene. This card uses brand new products from Hero Arts.
Jill’s wonderful shaker card has 4 different die cut windows that each have a scene with stitching and sequins inside. Each block has a colorful ink blended background and stamped silhouetted rabbits, birds and a nest filled with eggs. Below are dry embossed lines and a heat embossed sentiment. Check out the amazing background on Silvia’s darling card! She created the pattern with Distress Inks and an egg stencil, spritzing it with water and then adding some splatter for a cool watercolor effect. There’s also an adorable stamped bunny colored with Copics, die cut eggs, bow and a stamped and die cut sentiment, with even more splatter added. She breaks it all down at the Trinity Stamps blog.
Samantha’s brightly colored eggs use a layered egg die set that cuts patterns on the top layer like squiggles, flowers, bunnies and polka dots. The base of each egg has bold ink blending and glitter added for some sparkle. They are stacked on a die cut zig zag frame with a basket weave pattern paper base, there’s also a heat embossed sentiment too. Learn more at the Newton’s Nook Designs blog.
Meghan’s darling Easter card used pretty pattern papers in pink plaid and eggs and florals for the background, border and some blocks, die cut with faux stitching. In the center is a die cut scalloped oval with sweet stamped rabbits and eggs with soft and subtle coloring. I spotted her idea on the Not 2 Shabby Instagram page.
For this egg-cellent Easter card Christina used a large egg die that cuts out small shapes inside the egg. She cut it from white for the base and several other colors of cardstock to puzzle piece them back in to create the all over colorful pattern. There’s a heat embossed sentiment on a banner die on top along with a scalloped die cut frame and pierced die background. Find all the details on the Pretty Pink Posh blog.
Terri’s terrific basket full of eggs has so much awonderful texture. She used pastel Shimmer paper for a nice shine on the die cut eggs, bow and weave of the basket. The basket uses a die set that cuts the slits on the basket along with a die to cut the strips to be woven. I love the quilted die embossed pattern on the background! Visit the Create with Terri Gaines blog to watch her video tutorial.
Mindy’s fabulous Easter card also has lots of texture too. The large egg was die cut and then ink blended in an ombre’ of pinks and yellows and then run through with a floral dry embossing plate, the rabbit has a subtle dry embossing on the die so it too has a pretty flower texture which she ink blended in brown. To finish the card off there’s a large pink inked bow. Find all the details at the Mindy Eggen Designs blog.
Melissa’s stunning card is vintage inspired with crinkled ribbon, lovely layers and pretty flowers. I love how the card is shaped like an egg! She used a large egg die that cuts out flowers and vines and placed pattern paper behind the openings then inked the flowers and leaves, adding some glitter and gem in the centers too. There’s also a die cut arch in the middle for the stamped sentiment. Take a closer look at the Spellbinders blog.
Elise’s darling design has stamped and stenciled Easter Eggs nestled in stamped grass with a cute bunny and chick sitting beside and a stamped and die cut sentiment below. She added a subtle ink blended sky and ground with tied twine to finish off the card. Visit the Lawn Fawn blog for a closer peek.
And last but certainly not least is Kristie’s beautiful egg card created with pretty pastel cardstocks from Scrapbook.com. She used a large egg die that comes with sweet accents to cut out with leaping bunnies, vines, leaves and flowers. Notice how she added some white gel pen and glitter for some extra detail. I hope you’ve enjoyed these egg-cellent Easter Egg card ideas!
