This fun Missing You card from Debbie has a puny die cut sentiment and an adorable stamped Moose all bundled up in blue for the cold weather. There’s also glittery snow, die cut birch trees and a blue ink blended and splattered snowy sky. I spotted her idea on the Whimsy Stamps Instagram page.
As the Holidays draw to a close you might be tempted to put away all those Christmas card crafting supplies but many of them can still be used to create cards for Winter. If someone has a Winter birthday or you want to send a Thinking of You or Thank You card many of those stamps, dies and stencil will still come in handy. Today we’ll take a look at some sweet Winter themed cards that feature animals and birds.

This lovely Winter birthday card was created by Renata using dies. Her handsome fox is enjoying a hot mug of Cocoa on a snowy die cut hill with a soft pink ink blended sky. I love the sparkly snowflake frame die cut from glitter paper! Find more info at the Lawn Fawn blog.
For those of you talented enough to draw your own images you can follow Jennifer directions for making a Winter watercolor Dashaud card. Using a pencil she sketch out her dog and then used a wet on wet watercolor technique to color the dog, background and added some light color to the snow. Find her instructions at the Altenew blog.
Renee used Copic Markers to color in her mostly Monochromatic blue stamped farm scene with a bird on the fence. She included lots of layers of pattern papers and die cut frames, pom pom trims and golden die cut snowflakes too. Take a closer look at the Art Impressions blog.
This darling card from Amy has a couple of mice keeping warm with a cup of hot chocolate. She colored her design with Copic markers with a little ink blending on the background. Notice how she stamped the scene onto a die cut scalloped edge panel for added interest. Learn more at A Thousand Sheets of Paper blog.
Jill’s stunning Winter card has die cut silhouette Cardinals and a Deer with stamped and die cut trees. She’s placed it inside of a beautiful die cut frame with a stamped border and stamped sentiment as well. Take a peek over at the Penny Black stamps blog.
Rachel’s cute card has a sweet girl surrounded by Snowmen, Deer and Bunny friends under a big red umbrella. She also included pattern paper with deer in the layers behind the stamping along with a heat embossed gold sentiment. Learn more at the Polkadoodles blog.
I love the sweet chubby Robin on this card from Cheryl! She placed him on a stamped branch adding some black gems and a subtle stamped background. Notice how the background fades toward the center, that helps draw the eye to the focal point. I came across her card at the Gina K. Instagram page.
I love the blue and purple color combo Michelle used on her cute Polar Bear and Penguin snow ball fight card! Glitter paper and sparkly gems add some nice shimmer to her design. Take a closer look at the Pink and Main blog.
This wonderful Winter Hedgehog card from Therese has lots of different textures. There’s a dry embossed snowflake background, glitter on the snowy hills, the ice skates are die cut from glitter paper and she used felt to die cut his scarf and hat, so sweet! Find all the details at the Spellbinders blog.
Tina’s amazing snowflake card uses stamping, stenciling, die cutting and dry embossing for a beautiful way to wish someone a warm Winter birthday. I love the mix of silver and blue and the tiny stamped birds she added around the heat embossed tag! Watch her video tutorial at the Simon Says Stamp blog.
Nina placed her cool stamped cat colored with watercolor pencils inside a die cut snow globe filled with chunky glitter. It’s on a hot pink dry embossed background with heat embossed sentiment and stamped snowflakes falling around. Watch a video tutorial on her Nina Marie blog.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these darling Winter animals and bird and have been inspired to create your own fun Winter critter card designs!
