Hearts say it all, they let someone know right away how you feel about them. Hearts are also so versatile and can be used on your scrapbook layouts for so many different occasions, not just for Valentine’s Day and in so many different ways. Jess’s journaling pages celebrate a snowy Valentine’s Day with a large photo with stamping and journaling directly on the pic and on the right side a strip of pattern paper with a vertical row of overlapping hearts cut from various pattern papers along with a bit more stamping. I love the pink and green color combo on Deidre’s heart filled layout! She used stencils and stamps along with pink doilies, pink ink splatter, some florals and lots of sweet sentiments all around. I came across her layout on her Scrapping Girl 9 Instagram page.

Becki die cut lots of hearts from pattern papers that have plaid, checks and tiny florals that give a rustic country feeling along with the woodgrain background. There’s also rub-ons, brads, chipboard shapes and stickers with some stitching and hidden journaling on the tag that’s tucked behind the photo. Allison created her own hearts on this wonderful layout with a large wreath of hearts surrounding the photos. She used pink and red watercolors on watercolor paper and after it dried she die cut lots of hearts, some with holes for adding sewing. Niki’s beautiful layout also has a rustic feel with stitched and distressed edges on the base paper and lots of woodgrain, striped and floral pattern papers. She die cut concentric hearts from these papers and stacked and stitched each one together down the center to create an edge border along one side. The gold title adds a nice pop of shimmer. From many examples we’ve seen today I think it’s safe to say rustic and romantic are trendy together. Heather G.’s page uses woodgrain and florals to perfection on a layout with lots of dimension.
