12 Scrapbook Layout Ideas with Lots of Layers – Scrap Booking

If you’re wanting to take your scrapbooking to the next level, do just that, add lots of levels and layers. Layering adds amazing depth and texture to any design! Layer up papers, stickers, embellishments or even photos, you can stack, stagger, over lap, fan them out and mix them up to create so much extra interest to your scrapbook designs. It’s also a fantastic way to use up all those scraps! So let’s take a look at some lovely layouts that have lots and lots of layers.

Nathalie used papers and printed embellishments with a vintage feel for her beautiful layout. Some are stacked and some are slightly fanned out with clusters of flowers and butterflies hovering around. Nicole’s sweet page has many layers of pattern paper behind an open die cut heart. Some paper are torn and some are fringed for added texture. This is a great way to use of strips of left over papers! She’s also layered up 3D flowers, tucking in embellishments with them too, as well as adding some stamping around the heart. This cute kitty cat layout from Paige has a row of sweet photos along the top with the title, an oval for journaling and some flowers tucked behind. But the wow factor are the layers of fringed pattern papers, notice how they are different widths and lengths, this adds ever more special detail to the design. Layering doesn’t have to be thick and detailed you can keep it clean and simple too like Brianna did on her fun winter snow day page. Behind the matted photo are larger layers of pattern papers as well and a couple of long layered strips for a center border. Karlla’s design has two pattern papers for the base, one much smaller with stitching around the edges and rows of rounded end strips of papers, also stitched for some great texture. There’s many hexagon frames, one with the photo, the rest filled with papers and embellishments as well as lots of layers of floral embellishments around the frames. Julie’s got an amazing mix of layers of pattern papers, cheese cloth, doilies, stamping, wooden, chipboard and acrylic embellishments over a stenciled and painted background. Notice how she kept to a color scheme of mostly teals and yellows with lots of cream and dark grey, layering lights and darks so each layer doesn’t get lost. Kim’s pretty pink layout has layers down the center of thin strips of pattern papers, florals and colored acetate film strips. She added her photos off to each side, layering lots of vintage inspired tickets, postcards and ephemera, adding touches of rhinestones and pearls for a romantic feminine design. Allison started with a sketch as inspiration for her fantastic double page layout. She’s got rows of photos across both pages with layers of triangles stretching across and swirling around the last photo. Each triangle is cut from different pattern papers and stitched in black tread around the edges then over lapped with small stars coming along for the ride too. Here’s another example of simple layering, Anke has created a square frame around her layout made up of colorful tickets. Each ticket has another ticket, the same color, layered over top for a tone on tone effect. Julie’s beautiful layout started with blue pattern paper that she added brown rustic stenciling too and then she started her layers. Behind each photo are many layers of printed papers, all with a vintage feel, like tickets, library cards, tags, labels, book pages, vellum, fabric and paper doilies.
