A refreshing summer cocktail that tastes like a garden party in a glass
There’s something about Pimm’s that always feels like the first real sign of warm weather. Maybe it’s the citrus and cucumber. Maybe it’s the memories of long, lazy afternoons, kids splashing in the pool while you pretend the washing isn’t piling up inside.
And if you’ve got a Ninja Slushie Maker sitting on your kitchen bench (I adore mine a little too much), this Frozen Pimm’s Slushie becomes even easier. No ice, no dilution, no watery disappointment. Just proper, icy-cold, fruity perfection.
This version has a little more flavour, more fruit, and more of that thick sorbet-style texture that makes the Ninja Slushie Maker so addictive. It’s honestly one of my favourite “grown-up treats” when the weather is scorching and I want something fun but not fussy.
Why This Frozen Pimm’s Slushie Is Better Than the Usual
Because we’re using:
• Real fruit, not just juice
• Fresh citrus + cucumber for the classic Pimm’s profile
• No added ice (your Ninja transforms cold liquid into slush—no watering down)
• A splash of lemonade for sparkle
• A freezer-cold base blend so it freezes into that perfect thick scoopable summer slush
It’s refreshing without being sweet, classy without being complicated, and such a crowd-pleaser at BBQs, Christmas lunches, girls-night-in, or those afternoons when you want something nice for yourself.
INGREDIENTS
(Serves 2 generous glasses or 3 “I’m pacing myself” servings)
- 1 cup Pimm’s No. 1
• 1 cup lemonade or ginger ale
• ½ cup chilled tonic water (optional but adds a lovely crisp finish)
• ½ orange, sliced
• ½ lemon, sliced
• ½ small cucumber, sliced thin
• 4–5 strawberries, halved
• Handful of fresh mint
• 1 tbsp sugar syrup (optional, but lovely if your fruit is slightly tart)
PRE-FREEZE BASE MIX
This step is the trick to a PERFECT Ninja slushie.
- Add the Pimm’s, lemonade, tonic, sugar syrup and half the fruit to a jug.
- Chill in the fridge for 30–60 minutes.
- Once cold, pour into the Ninja Slushie Maker cup.
- Place the cup in the freezer for 12–18 hours until frozen.
The fruit flavours infuse beautifully, and the Ninja will transform this into a thick, icy sorbet rather than a thin drink.
HOW TO MAKE A FROZEN PIMM’S SLUSHIE
- Remove the frozen cup from your freezer.
- Pop it into the Ninja base and run the program until it reaches that delicious, frosty, scoopable texture.
- Spoon or pour into chilled glasses.
- Add remaining fruit, mint, and a few thin curls of cucumber on the side.
- Top with an extra splash of lemonade if you like it looser.
Serve straight away before the teenagers ask for “just a taste”.
MAKE IT A PARTY: VARIATIONS
These all work beautifully in the Ninja Slushie Maker—just keep the liquid cold and freeze it before processing.
Pimm’s Berry Garden Slushie
Use lemonade + a full handful of frozen berries + a touch of elderflower syrup.
Cucumber-Mint Pimm’s Frost
Skip the berries, double the cucumber, and add a splash of lime cordial.
Pimm’s Christmas Slushie
Use blood orange soda, pomegranate seeds, and fresh mint. Perfect for Aussie hot Christmas lunches.
Pimm’s Tropical Heat Slushie
Use ginger beer + pineapple juice + kiwi fruit. It’s sunshine in a glass.
STORAGE
Your frozen base cups can be made days in advance, which is brilliant for entertaining.
Once blended, serve immediately—Ninja slushies melt quickly in summer heat.
