Designer Spotlight: One Seo – Cross-Stitch

The designer behind Etsy shop One Seo says they design patterns “inspired by mythology, nature, folklore, and the magic found in everyday life.” Let’s take a closer look.

As of this writing the shop has almost 100 patterns, including medieval and gothic designs, wheel of the year patterns, animals, flowers, samplers and patriotic designs.

It’s fun and unusual that the biggest category in this shop is Valentines. The patterns have a kawaii feel with a gothic twist, like a grim reaper holding a heart shaped balloon or a black rose.

This one isn’t a Valentine’s Day pattern but I wanted to share the floral folk art pattern, which I feel like is a little more representative of the vibe of the shop. This botanical sampler includes 12 flowers, so you could make it your own monthly stitchalong.

It uses 28 colors and measures 200 by 200 stitches. That makes the full design 14.3 inches or36.3 cm square when sticthed on 14 count fabric. I love how working it on black fabric gives the project a stained glass effect.

The sampler section (which is where you’d find these flowers) is another large one in the shop, and it includes everything from traditional looking village and hose designs to an LGBTQ-colored Quaker sampler, instructions on how to cook ramen and a sampler of matchboxes representing different countries.

Other categories include animals and nature, folklore, kawaii and art deco designs. There’s also a category called special independent days, which features patriotic designs and a few things specifically made for the 250th anniversary of American independence, which is being celebrated in 2026. (As an American I’m finding it hard to want to celebrate but the designs are nice.)

Check out all the offerings at One Seo on Etsy. And let me know if you’ve got a favorite designer I haven’t featured here that I should know about!
