This 1:4 ratio creates a true concentrate that can be diluted later.

How to Make Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate

  1. Combine coffee and water
    Add the ground coffee to a large jar or jug. Pour over cold water and gently stir to fully saturate the grounds. 
  2. Cover and steep
    Cover loosely and place in the fridge or on the counter. Steep for 12–24 hours depending on strength preference. 
  3. Strain slowly
    Strain through a fine mesh sieve, coffee filter, or clean cloth. Don’t rush this step—slow filtering keeps it smooth. 
  4. Store
    Transfer to a sealed glass container and refrigerate.

Stored in the fridge, cold brew coffee concentrate stays fresh for up to 7 days. After that, flavours can turn flat or stale.

Always store in glass—plastic can absorb coffee odours.
